BioI am a 58 year old woman of the caucasion persuasion. I was born in Brooklyn, NY. The family moved to Stuyvesant Town in Manhattan when I was a toddler. I am a lifelong NY Yankee fan and I bleed pinstripes. Of Irish and Greek descent, I love all things Celtic/Irish and wouldn't turn down a trip to Greece.
I missed out on College Life - I went to work right out of high school, which was BA, Benedictine Academy in Elizabeth, NJ. My parents moved their 5.5 children there when I was 11 and in the 6th grade. I finished grammar school at St. Genevieve's RC school, which was down the street about 6 blocks from our house.
I have been a file clerk at Prudential; a key-punch operator for NJ Bell; a Unit Secretary or Ward Clerk at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Elizabeth, NJ. (It is now part of Trinitas Hospital in Elizabeth.); I was a musician and singer at local bars and restaurants and at a combination Coffeehouse/Battle of the Bands just over the Outerbridge Crossing to Staten Island for about 6 weeks in 1969; (My friend, Bobby Knight, RIP, used to drive mue there and sit through all my sets and then drive me home. He was a fan. I got involved with Cursillo, a Catholic retreat for adults when I was 19 (1968) and through that connection I developed a Music Ministry. I sang at weddings in the church, accompanying myself of the guitar for a number of years as a solo. I have been a teacher of Music History and Appreciation at Holy Spirit School, ages K - 8 for 4 years, at BA for 2 semesters, and an assistant pre-school teacher for 6 years at the YMCA Daycare Center at The Montrose School in South Orange, NJ. I loved that job! It was my last job.
I stopped being a solo in-the-church Wedding Singer when I met my husband, Bill. He and I began singing together and we worked together at the Mt. Carmel Guild in Cranford, NJ. We were married in November, 1977, so we'll be celebrating
our 30th anniversary soon. We have 2 sons in their late 20's who are wonderful, good men. I am very proud of them.
